Many City of Allen facilities will close or observe limited hours during the Labor Day holiday. For questions about schedules not listed below, please contact the facility directly.

• Allen Animal Shelter: Closed Labor Day
• Allen Community Ice Rink: Rink open 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Labor Day Open Skate from 1-3 p.m.
• Allen Event Center Box Office: Closed Saturday, Sep. 2 through Monday, Sep. 4. (Allen Gun Show attendees can still purchase tickets at the door.)
• Allen Public Library: Closed Sunday, Sep. 3 and Monday, Sep. 4
• Allen Senior Recreation Center: Closed Labor Day
• City of Allen Municipal Complex (including Municipal Court): Closed Labor Day
• Chemical Reuse Center: Closed Saturday, Sep. 2
• The Courses at Watters Creek: Open Labor Day. Book a tee time.
• Don Rodenbaugh Natatorium: Open 1-6 p.m. on Labor Day
• The Edge Visitor Center: Closed Labor Day; skate park open normal hours
• Ford Pool: Open from 1-6 p.m. on Labor Day. During the final weekend of 2017, buy one Klondike bar and get another free while supplies last!
• Joe Farmer Recreation Center: Closed Labor Day

Community Waste Disposal will not pick up trash on Labor Day. Trash collection will slide one day, ending with Friday's trash collection being picked up on Saturday.

Looking for Labor Day plans? You're invited to the final performance in our 2017 Summer Sounds Concert Series. Allen Philharmonic Orchestra will perform at 7 p.m. on Monday, Sep. 4 at Allen Civic Plaza, located behind Allen City Hall. Thanks to the City of Allen and the Parks and Recreation Department, all Summer Sounds concerts are free!
