The City of Allen will continue partnering with Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) to provide transportation options for seniors and residents with disabilities.
The Collin County Rides Program is a taxi subsidy service provided by the City of Allen through a partnership with DART. Seniors age 65 and older and/or residents with disabilities receive $3 of taxi credits for every $1 they purchase. Participants can use the credits to travel anywhere in Collin County, for any purpose.
Allen City Council approved a two-year extension to the program during the September 12 meeting. Allen Community Development Corporation will cover the $12,500 monthly cost.
