The southwest corner of Bethany Drive and Greenville Avenue is about to undergo a big transformation.
The vacant lot, previously zoned for a light industrial use, will soon be home to the Bethany Greenville Retail Center. The property will include a new QuickTrip fueling station, restaurant and mini-storage center, along with two retail buildings.
“This is our first project in Allen. We’ve been looking here in town for many, many years and we’re very excited about benchmarking this first opportunity here,” said QuickTrip real estate manager Jake Petras.
The 4-story, climate-controlled storage center will be located within the center of the property. Enhanced landscaping will screen the loading docks. New deceleration and turn lanes will be added on Bethany Drive and Greenville Avenue to reduce congestion.
“I drive by this lot many times a week, and I’m excited to see a development there instead of weeds that need mowing,” said Councilmember Robin Sedlacek. “I think it’s a project that fits well with that corner, as well as the surrounding neighbors.”
Council members unanimously approved the change during the September 26 meeting.
