The City of Allen Purchasing Division's win-streak continues for the seventeenth consecutive year!
The city's Purchasing Division has been awarded the 2017 Excellence in Procurement Award, which recognizes ethics, innovation and best practices among North American cities. The award was presented to City Council during the January 9 meeting.
City of Allen purchasing staff are responsible for acquiring goods and services that are needed to keep city departments operating efficiently and effectively.
Chief Financial Officer Eric Cannon was quick to praise the purchasing team.
“Not only are they making sure we’re in compliance every day,” said Cannon. “They’re also allowing us to do more.”
This past fiscal year, the Purchasing Division’s efforts saved the City of Allen almost 11 million dollars.
