From restroom roofs to the roads we use every day, all city equipment and facilities need routine maintenance to continue functioning properly.
On January 9, Allen City Council approved contracts to improve and repair several city facilities and infrastructure.
The pavement markings and reflectors that dot our roadways need routine repair or replacement to continue functioning. Allen City Council awarded a bid to Road Master Striping, LLC. to conduct these repairs. The estimated annual cost of this maintenance is $225,000.
The roofs at both the concession buildings and the restrooms at Celebration Park have recently required repairs. The maintenance building at the Courses at Watters Creek is also in need of repair. These leaky roofs have long outlived their effectiveness, and City Council has contracted D&G Quality Roofing, Inc. to install strong new roofing to both facilities. The total cost of the replacement is $116,032.
A chiller unit at City Hall is also nearing the end of its life expectancy. Installed in 2000, this chiller will be replaced by Infinity Contractors International, LTD for the amount of $127,350.
These repairs and replacements will ensure that our city assets and facilities are working as intended for many years to come.
