Three bright young artists have been named winners of the Arbor Day Poster Contest sponsored by Keep Allen Beautiful.

1st place: Chloe Cunningham, Cheatham Elementary

2nd place: Lilly Reeves, Boon Elementary

3rd place: Sebastian Reyes, Cheatham Elementary

These three students designed their posters within the theme of “Trees are Terrific…and Forests are too!” The winners of the Arbor Day Poster Contest were announced at the February 13 City Council meeting.

Keep Allen Beautiful (KAB) holds the Arbor Day Poster Contest to raise awareness of the importance of trees in the City of Allen. KAB works with the Allen Independent School District to encourage fourth and fifth grade students to show their love for trees through art.

Eight AISD elementary schools participated, and more than 20 posters were entered into the contest. A tree will be planted at Cheatham Elementary in honor of Chloe Cunningham, the first-place winner.
