Families can enjoy the Easter version of “trick-or-treating" right here in Allen!
Eggcellent Family Adventure, which is one of Allen's favorite springtime traditions and is free to attend and open to the public, is being held from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, March 24 at Allen Civic Plaza.
Kids can bring their Easter baskets and visit tables hosted by civic organizations and local businesses to receive eggs, candy and other goodies.
There is a lot more to enjoy too with great activities like games, crafts, face painters and a bounce house — and a visit from the Easter Bunny.
With the importance of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) programs, new at this year's event will be the Eggcellent Eggdrop presented by Chick-fil-A Allen, a competition to build a structure out of materials such as straws, tape and cardboard to prevent an egg from breaking from a 10+ foot drop. Though Eggcellent Family Adventure is free to attend, there is a $10 supply fee per individual or team to participate in the eggdrop competition.
All ages are welcome to participate in this fun, STEAM competition, but spots are limited. Online registration is now available, and for additional information please contact Anna-Marie Underwood at aunderwood@cityofallen.org or by phone at 214.509.4707.
