The Allen Police Department continues to be recognized as one of the top agencies in Texas.
The Texas Law Enforcement Best Practices Recognition Program is designed to encourage and recognize efficient and effective practices in police departments. Police departments keep their recognized status for four years, after which they must conduct reapply in order to maintain that status. Allen Police Department has been a recognized department since 2009.
There are currently 145 recognized agencies in the Recognition Program which began in 2007. The Allen Police Department is one of only 14 agencies that has been consistently recognized since 2009. The significance of being a Recognized Agency has positive benefits internally by knowing that policies and procedures are in place to minimize issues that may arise. Citizens of Allen can have confidence and be assured that their police department adheres to the best practices in the law enforcement industry.
