Allen’s much-anticipated hotel and massive convention center hit a milestone this month. Delta Hotels by Marriott Dallas Allen and Watters Creek Convention Center celebrated its topping off at a ceremony on April 18.
The 300-room hotel will offer 90,000 square feet of meeting, event and convention space – the largest venue of its kind on the US 75 corridor between Dallas and Oklahoma. Located off US 75 and Bethany Drive, the facility will feature luxury amenities, a signature restaurant by famed Texas chef Stephan Pyles, an expansive pool and patio, and proximity to high-end shopping and dining at Watters Creek.
Inside the convention center, visitors will find a nod to Allen’s city leadership. It was announced at the topping off ceremony that the main convention hall will be named Terrell Hall, after Mayor Stephen Terrell.
The hotel and convention center is expected to generate $15 million per year in tourism spending once fully operational. A soft opening is planned for December 2018 with a grand opening to follow in January 2019.
