[ARCHIVED] Dealing with Downed Tree Limbs

downed trees

Here’s what you need to know about how to properly dispose of downed tree limbs and trimmings.

  • Call Community Waste Disposal, CWD, to schedule a pickup of tree trimmings. CWD will pick up tree trimmings or limbs that are up to 4 inches in diameter. CWD will collect a loose pile of up to 3 cubic yards (the size of three washing machines side-by-side) once a month. Residents must call CWD to schedule the collection at 972.392.9300.
  • Bring it to the Custer Road Transfer Station, 9901 Custer Road. Load your yard waste into your personal vehicle or rented flatbed truck and bring it to the Custer Road Transfer Station Wood Grinding Facility. You can bring up to two loads per month with your current water bill and driver’s license. For more information about the Custer Road Transfer Station, visit the NTMWD website.
  • If you hire a professional tree company, make sure to negotiate disposal fees, as the City of Allen is not responsible for the resulting disposal. Please refer to City Ordinance, Health and Environment, Sec. III, Solid Waste, Sec.6-65.
