[ARCHIVED] COAST Swimmer Wins Silver at State!

Silver Medal 1

The City of Allen Swim Team (COAST) can now boast having a new state medaling swimmer on the team, 8-year-old Hailey Searle!

Making more than just waves at the 2018 Texas Amateur Athletic Federation (TAAF) SUMMER GAMES OF TEXAS, Searle brought home the Silver Medal in the 25-yard breast stroke for the 8-year-old and under category.

Recently, Searle took time away from swimming to talk about her training, inspiration and favorite marine animal.

How long have you been swimming competitively?
This was my second summer swimming competitively. Both summers being with COAST.

What does your training routine look like?
I swam two times a week in between COAST seasons at Stroke Clinic. I also did private lessons every other week starting in February at Don Rodenbaugh Natatorium. I also swim at my Grandma and Papa's pool whenever I can.

What inspires you to swim?
I love to swim and have lots of fun swimming. My goal is to get an Olympic gold medal for breast stroke!

Who is your favorite professional swimmer?
Lilly King is my favorite swimmer to watch. She won a gold medal for breast stroke at the 2016 Olympics.

What is your favorite marine animal?
Dolphins are my favorite marine animal. I love the way they swim and jump.

Congratulations for all of her hard work and success! For more information about COAST and how to join, please visit AllenParks.org/COAST or call 214.509.4770.
