While September is not a good time for new planting, it can be time for planning! Whenever your landscape is due for change, it is best to make a plan first. Use fall or winter months for making the plan, then plant at the correct time of year for success. Fall planting of large trees, some shrubs and groundcovers can be performed once temperatures are below 90 degrees. Save for spring the planting of most perennials and new sod for the lawn.
