Most Allen utility customers will see a credit of $50 in upcoming utility bills, due to a change in the way the City handles utility deposits.
Beginning in November, deposits for the City’s water, sewer and trash service will be refunded as an account credit when customers reach two years of on-time payment. Previously, the City held deposits the entire length of time residents lived in Allen.
Most accounts impacted by this change required a $50 deposit. Accounts opened with a smaller deposit amount will be refunded the original deposit, which may be less than $50.
Qualifying customers will receive their deposit refund as an account credit beginning in November 2018.
