Does your organization attract tourists to Allen? If so, you might be eligible to apply for the 2019 Allen Hotel Occupancy Tax Grant. Applications will be accepted April 1-26.

The Texas Tax Code authorizes the City of Allen to impose a local hotel occupancy tax which may be used to promote and enhance tourism and the convention and hotel industry by funding promotional programs that attract tourists and convention delegates or registrants to the City of Allen and for qualifying programs which enhance the arts, historical restoration or preservation projects.

Non-profit organizations located within the city limits of Allen that are interested in applying for grants from the local Hotel Occupancy Tax Revenue may pick up applications at Allen City Hall (305 Century Parkway). Applications are available in the front foyer information rack or in the Finance Department (located on the second floor) during regular business hours (Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.). An online application is also available.

An informational workshop for prospective grant applicants will be held on Friday, April 12 from 10-11 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the Council Conference Room at Allen City Hall.

Applications must be completed and returned to the City of Allen Finance Department no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, April 26 to qualify for grant consideration. For additional information, contact Financial Analyst Keith Jones at 214.509.4625 or kjones@cityofallen.org.
