A new face will join Allen City Council on Tuesday, May 14 as Chris Schulmeister replaces outgoing councilmember Robin Sedlacek in Place No. 4.
Citizens are invited to a public reception before Tuesday’s meeting to welcome Schulmeister and recognize re-elected Councilmember Baine Brooks. Light refreshments will be served beginning at 5:30 p.m. in the Allen City Hall rotunda (305 Century Parkway). A program recognizing Schulmeister and Brooks, along with outgoing councilmember Robin Sedlacek, will begin at 6 p.m.
Schulmeister has lived in Allen since 1984 and has served on numerous local boards and committees, including the Allen Economic Development Corporation, Allen Community Development Corporation, Allen Community Outreach, Allen High School “Home Run” Booster Club and Collin County Martin Luther King Jr. Appreciation Day Service.
Brooks was first elected in 2012. He currently serves on the Allen Economic Development Corporation board and Allen USA advisory committee. He is a member of the Allen Fairview Chamber of Commerce and has served as a board president for the Foundation for Allen Schools.
Sedlacek has served on Allen City Council since 2007 and provided council oversight to numerous boards and committees, currently including the Allen Community Development Corporation, Finance/Audit Committee, Nominating Committee and Allen Animal Shelter.
