Recycle Your Styrofoam!

Photos of various Styrofoam products such as take-out containers and packing peanuts

Did you know Allen residents can take advantage of nearby collection points for Styrofoam products not accepted in curbside recycling?

Frisco Environmental Collection Center (6616 Walnut Street, Frisco) is open to all, including non-Frisco residents and commercial entities. No I.D. or proof of residency is required to access the facility. See a list of accepted and prohibited items on the City of Frisco website.

Additionally, Allen residents may participate in the First Saturday Styrofoam Recycling Drop-Off run by a group of volunteers in Lucas and surrounding areas. The program is open to all, regardless of residency. Participants may bring clean egg cartons, meat trays, fast food clam shell containers, cups and packing materials. Packing peanuts and certain other packing materials are not accepted. See a list of upcoming events on the group’s Facebook page.

Styrofoam and other #6 plastics are currently not accepted for recycling by Allen’s waste services provider, CWD. For a list of accepted materials, view our annual Trash & Recycling Guidelines.
