From spine-chilling movies to unconventional pumpkin-picking, here are 7 ways to make your Halloween “spook-tacular.”

• Join the #Search4CecetheDino before the "escaped" Coelophysis eats all of Allen's candy supplies! New locations added every Thursday on the Parks and Recreation Facebook Page.
• Reserve a Pumpkin Painting Take & Make Kit from Allen Public Library to create festive fall decor. Open to children in grades 4-6. Registration begins October 12.
• Go for a dip, then pick your pumpkin from the floating pumpkin patch at Don Rodenbaugh Natatorium on October 17 from noon to 4 p.m. Registration required.
• Dress up, then drive in to Joe Farmer Recreation Center's Drive In Halloween Movie on October 24, featuring The Addams Family. Registration required.
• Put your costume on ice at Allen Community Ice Rink's Halloween Skate, October 25. Wear a costume and get free admission pass for a future date! Registration required.
• Enjoy a selection of wonderfully creepy tales performed by storyteller Bernadette Nason. Videos geared toward grades K-3 and grades 4-6 will be available October 29-November 5 from Allen Public Library.
• Tune in for a spooky virtual talk with author Mitchel Whittington, writer of "Ghosts of North Texas" and "Ghosts of East Texas and the Pineywoods," on October 29, hosted by On Stage @ APL.
