Mary Badham, star of film classic To Kill A Mockingbird, makes a virtual appearance at the Allen Public Library at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 12. Celebrating the 50th anniversary of this historic movie, she will introduce the movie and answer questions from the audience.
Playing the pivotal role of Scout Finch, Badham was on the set with Hollywood legends Gregory Peck, Robert Duvall and more. Today, she is one of the last stars of this film that is still living.
In 1960, To Kill A Mockingbird became an instant bestseller, and in 1962, it was made into a film that garnered three Oscars. Nominated for Best Supporting Actress, then 10-year-old Mary was the youngest actress to be nominated in this category.
