For four years, Allen Parks Foundation worked in conjunction with Allen Parks and Recreation to develop a master plan for a trail marking system. On Feb. 3, 2021, the Foundation celebrated a milestone on the project by revealing new trail sign placards! These placards represent Phase Two of the project.
The 6-foot monuments and wayfinding sign placards are planned at every trail intersection. Placards will designate major trail names with color coding to provide consistency, uniformity, and ease of understanding for trail users. With 78 miles of hike and bike trails, this is an welcome addition for the usability of Allen's trail system. Installation of the 22 placards and monuments will began February 2021.
