New renderings of Terrell Recreation Center revealed

OCTOBER 15, 2020 - Allen Parks & Recreation is sharing a glimpse inside the future Stephen G. Terrell Recreation Center.

Parks & Recreation Director Kate Meacham revealed new interior renderings from BRS Architects during the October 13 City Council Workshop. The artwork depicts a bright and modern interior featuring an indoor playground, vaulted walk/jog track and light-filled meeting rooms and other community spaces.

The 149,000-square-foot facility is expected to open in Spring 2023 on Exchange Parkway, south of Ridgeview Drive. The $54 million project includes:

  • Indoor playground
  • Child watch area
  • Two gymnasiums with multiple courts
  • Indoor walk/jog track
  • Adventure track
  • Weight/cardio areas
  • Group fitness areas
  • Catering kitchen
  • Outdoor fitness deck
