Allen Police Department (APD) held a ceremony June 4 to promote Corporal Tony Liu to the rank of Sergeant and Officer Michelle Peel and Officer Matt Koehrsen to the ranks of Corporal. Congratulations to all!
Sergeant Tony Liu
Sergeant Liu began his law enforcement career in 2007 with the Dona Ana County Sheriff’s Department in New Mexico. He moved to Texas in 2010 and was hired by APD in 2011. Tony has received his Master Peace Officer Certification and currently serves as a SWAT Operator, TCOLE Instructor, ALERRT Instructor, Recruiter and Training Advisory Board member.
Corporal Michelle Peel
Corporal Peel began her career with APD in 2002 after serving seven years in the US Army as an Aircraft Structural Repairer and Arabic Voice Interceptor. During her time with APD she has served as an Investigator in the Criminal Investigations Division, as a Corporal in the Patrol Services Division and most recently as a School Resource Officer in the Support Services Division.
Corporal Matt Koehrsen
Corporal Koehrsen grew up in Allen, Texas. He began his law enforcement career as a detention officer here at APD. After finishing his college degrees, he applied with the department and was hired as an officer. Corporal Koehrsen served several years in the Patrol Division before he was selected as a K9 Handler. In this role, he and K9 Arko served seven years together. Corporal Koehrsen is a Master Peace Officer and a TCOLE Instructor. He’s been with Allen Police Department 15 years.
