[ARCHIVED] Roof replacement, pool maintenance to impact operations at Don Rodenbaugh Natatorium

Don Rodenbaugh Natatorium

Temporary closures are required while Don Rodenbaugh Natatorium receives a new roof and other maintenance, including repairs in the aquatics area and deep cleaning of pools.

Construction is scheduled from Nov. 8 to Dec. 20. A detailed closure schedule is provided below. Though work was not initially expected to disrupt operations, temporary closures were deemed necessary to guarantee visitors’ safety and allow contractors to work as quickly as possible. Most of the work will take place between Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays, when facility use is lower.

Allen Parks and Recreation staff are working to relocate or refund impacted activities and rentals. All impacted aquatics programs will be cancelled and refunded. Land fitness classes may be relocated to a nearby facility. Staff will contact enrolled participants to refund accounts if a temporary meeting location cannot be found.

Memberships will be extended for the length of the closure and members are welcome at Joe Farmer Recreation Center and Allen Senior Recreation Center (for adults 50+) during this time.
