Neighbors Helping Neighbors Opportunity

City of Allen logo

The overwhelming consensus from the survey results in February is that residents are interested in pursuing a Neighbors Helping Neighbors workday, wherein residents can nominate themselves or neighbors for miscellaneous projects and then assist in completing those projects together. There’s already an organization in Allen that does this annually called Change the World. Their annual workday weekend is coming up in May, and they are currently accepting project requests. With that said, we’re not going to recreate the wheel. If you would like to nominate your home or a neighbor’s home for assistance, please use the form located under the 'Need Help' tab on the Change the World website. There also are ways to volunteer your time to assist on projects. Depending on the interest expressed through Change the World, we might consider another work day in the fall.

Please note that beginning April 22, Senior Planner David Powell will depart from the City of Allen. If you have any questions now or in the foreseeable future, please contact Planning Manager, Erin Jones, by email at ejones@cityofallen.org or by phone at 214.509.4180.
