FEB. 25, 2022 - Allen Parks and Recreation received one local and several state level recognitions this month, including three separate awards for an individual staff member and one statewide award.
Volunteer Training Coordinator Tori Thibodeaux, BSRA, CTRS was honored with the Excellence in Mentoring award from the DFW Directors Association for her work developing a thriving Internship Program for Allen Parks and Recreation.
During the annual Texas Recreation and Parks Society (TRAPS) state institute, Tori received the Michal Anne Lord Servant Leadership Award for her immeasurable contributions to the field of therapeutic recreation. Tori also received the state-wide title of TRAPS Young Professional for her commitment to advancing the industry through leadership, volunteerism and work accomplishments.
In July 2021, Allen Parks and Recreation, in collaboration with Allen Public and Media Relations Office, created an extensive marketing campaign to deliver new members and member retention revenue for the department. Entitled “Discover Life In Allen!” the campaign received the TRAPS State Promotion and Marketing Excellence Award.
