[ARCHIVED] Collin County notice on possible gas odors

Some Collin County residents are noticing a prominent gas odor this morning. The City of Allen has been in touch with local gas companies and is sharing the following message from Atmos Energy:

STATEMENT FROM ATMOS ENERGY
Atmos Energy is actively responding to odor calls in parts of Collin County. There are no active evacuations at this time.

The safety of the public, our employees and our system is our highest priority, and we want to thank local Fire Departments and Emergency Services teams for their support and the residents who did the right thing by calling our emergency number.

We are responding to every odor call and will continue to do so as part of our vision to be the safest provider of natural gas services.

If you suspect a natural gas leak inside or outside your home or business, leave the area immediately and call 911 and your gas provider's 24-hour emergency line.
