City of Allen supports Building Safety Month, led by the International Code Council (ICC), because we understand the need for safe and sustainable structures where we live, work and play!
All communities need building codes to protect residents from disasters like fires, weather-related events and structural collapse. Building codes are society's best way of protecting homes, offices, schools, manufacturing facilities, stores and entertainment venues. Code officials work day in and day out to keep our residents and visitors safe.
This year’s theme, Safety for All: Building Codes in Action, encourages us to raise awareness about planning for safe and sustainable construction; career opportunities in building safety; understanding disaster mitigation, energy conservation; and creating a safe and abundant water supply which benefits us all.
Follow along all month with these resources from ICC!
