[ARCHIVED] Congratulations to Allen PD's newest Corporals

Allen Police Corporal Stephen Kyle Griffith, Corporal Felix Cauhape and Corporal Kye Kuopus were promoted on May 20. These new corporals look forward to serving Allen in their new assignments. Congratulations, gentlemen!

Corporal Stephen Kyle Griffith
Corporal Griffith graduated from Abilene Christian University with a Bachelor of Science in sociology/criminal justice and a minor in Psychology. He started his law enforcement career with Allen in 2011.

Corporal Griffith has received numerous commendations including: two Life Saving Awards, two Letters of Merit, a Commendation for Meritorious Conduct, three Team Excellence Commendations and the Mayor’s Shining Star Award. He holds a Master Peace Officer Certification, is a Gracie Survivor Tactics instructor and has been a defensive tactics instructor since 2018.

Corporal Felix Cauhape
Corporal Cauhape attended Texas Tech University and graduated with bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology. Upon completion of his degree, he served in the U.S. Army. He was deployed to Afghanistan as a Fire Support Officer for 3-7 CAV, 3rd ID. He began working for APD in July 2014 and serves the department as an FTO, mental health officer, negotiator, bike officer and recruiter.

Corporal Kye Kuopus
Corporal Kuopus graduated from Allen High School in 2011. After high school, he served in the U.S. Army as an Infantryman until 2015. Corporal Kuopos was hired by Allen Police Department in June 2015. He serves the department as a Field Training Officer, Drug Recognition Expert, SFST Instructor, Drone Pilot, and decoy for the K9 Unit.
