For Allen resident Shirley Cusick, happiness can be attained with brush strokes. Her art evokes gleeful smiles as library patrons view her exhibit at the Allen Public Library. Visitors are greeted with attractive landscapes that offer subtle and misty transitions of color, which are evocative of the gradual shifts in the forces of nature. A cowboy with a lariat wrapped around his shoulder is an interesting contrast to the stylized urban pedestrians who seek to avoid the rain with their umbrellas.
Shirley has been a tireless volunteer with ALLen Reads since its inception. As Shirley observes, "the program offers the local public an opportunity to meet the authors and hear their version and concept of the books they wrote."
This exhibit can be viewed during normal business hours.
