[ARCHIVED] Allen PD welcomes Officer Andrew Mahar and Officer Christopher Wassarman

Officer Andrew Mahar and Officer Christopher Wassarman took their Oaths of Office and joined the Allen Police Department on Sept. 23. Both officers look forward to bringing years of experience and service to the Allen PD team.

Officer Andrew Mahar
Officer Mahar grew up in Washington and played in the North American Hockey League until he was 20 years old. He attended the University of North Dakota and began a career in telecommunications with Verizon Wireless. In 2019, Andrew fulfilled a career goal and joined the Phoenix Police Department as a Patrol Officer. While researching smaller agencies that allowed career growth, Andrew discovered Allen, TX. He was hired by Allen Police Department in August 2022.

Officer Christopher Wassarman
Officer Wassarman served as a State trooper in Connecticut for six years where he was a Field Training Officer and ran a K-9 Unit. He also was part of the K9 Search and Rescue Team for the State’s Emergency Services Unit. Christopher chose to apply to Allen Police Department because of its astounding reputation, superior training and strong community bond. He was hired by Allen PD in August 2022.
