[ARCHIVED] Severe weather expected Friday, November 4

Severe weather is expected the afternoon of Friday, November 4, with the main threat being large hail and damaging winds. Tornadoes are possible; some areas may experience isolated flooding due to heavy rains.

As a reminder, the primary purpose of the outdoor warning system is to alert those who may be outside and need to take shelter. The sirens will sound for winds greater than 70 mph, hail greater than 1 inch, tornado warnings from the National Weather Service or rotation observed by a trained spotter. Allen Fire Department posts information on Facebook regarding the alert status when the outdoor warning system is activated.

You can also enroll in Hyper-Reach notifications through the City of Allen to receive alerts from the National Weather Service via text, phone call or email.
