San Francisco, CA (July 23, 2013) – NerdWallet, a financial literacy and consumer advocacy website, has analyzed data to compile a list of the best cities in Texas for job seekers.
NerdWallet ranked Allen second after assessing the area’s population growth, median income and unemployment rate.
The city of Allen has experienced a 10.3 percent increase in population in recent years and has a low unemployment rate of 5.1 percent to match. The Allen Independent School District is the city’s largest employer and accounts for more than 10 percent of the city’s total employment. Presbyterian Hospital and the City of Allen are also top employers.
“It’s no surprise that this suburb of Dallas ranked high on our list,” said NerdWallet analyst Divya Raghavan. “Texas’ low cost of living coupled with Allen’s fair median income and low unemployment rate make it a great city for those seeking employment.”
