Now that Spring is here, you may start seeing more wildlife in our natural areas, greenbelts and parks. There are various types of wildlife that inhabit our parks and the warmer climates tend to make them more active and visible. The City of Allen Parks and Recreation Department wants to encourage everyone to be aware of their surroundings while enjoying the outdoors and visiting our parks.
Many of the species that support our natural ecosystems are regulated by state and federal mandates. In addition, the City of Allen has an ordinance in place protecting the wildlife in our parks. Park patrons are advised to not approach wildlife especially if they are unsure of its species. If there is a concern, please contact the Parks and Recreation Department main administrative offices at 214.509.4700.
