A new provision of the Water Conservation Stage 3 ordinance allows for lawns to be watered using a hand-held hose for up to two hours daily provided there is no excess run-off. Soaker hoses and irrigation systems cannot be used for this purpose. This provision is to be used only as needed to prevent loss of landscaping. A strong water use reduction is still needed due to low lake levels and ongoing drought in an attempt to prevent Stage 4 water conservation measures.
