Closures, Refunds and Rentals

On March 16, the City of Allen initiated a local disaster declaration for public health emergency to help slow the spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) in our community. Allen Parks and Recreation is temporarily closing several facilities to minimize crowded gatherings and protect vulnerable populations. Registration, reservations and rentals are suspended until further notice.

Impacted Facilities

The following facilities are closed until further notice. All activities and programs at these facilities are canceled during this time. Canceled facility rentals will receive a full refund and returned deposit, as applicable. See refund information below. If you have questions, please call 214.509.4700.

Allen Community Ice Rink (ACIR) – Closed 

ACIR events and programs also canceled during this time. Refunds will be offered on impacted activities.
For refund requests:

Allen Parks and Recreation Administrative Building – Closed

All rentals and reservations are suspended until further notice.

Allen Senior Recreation Center (ASRC) – Closed 

ASRC events and programs also canceled during this time. Any canceled group travel from ASRC will be credited or refunded through the Parks and Recreation Department or travel insurance, as applicable.

Don Rodenbaugh Natatorium (DRN) – Closed 

If you would like to pause your membership at DRN, you may do so on a month-to-month basis with no penalties.

Joe Farmer Recreation Center – Closed 

Recreation center events and programs also canceled during this time. Refunds will be offered on impacted activities.

The Courses at Watters Creek - Closed through Friday, April 3

For refund requests:

  • Contact your instructor for refund information.
  • Fees will be pro-rated on a monthly basis based on the time period the facility is closed. (Annual Pass and Performance Plus)
  • Membership fees will not be billed at the beginning of the month if we know the facility will be closed. Email Matt Sipko or Jeff Holt for more information.
  • Deposits will be refunded if re-scheduling is not an option. Email Lee Hunter for more information.

The Edge Visitor Center and Skate Park – Closed 

Visitor Center events and programs also canceled during this time. Refunds will be offered on impacted activities.

Members may cancel their membership with no penalties. Full-scale membership extensions and refunds are being evaluated for the period that facilities are closed.

Refunds – Programs, classes, leagues, trips and athletics

  • Credits or refunds will be provided in full for canceled programs and classes.
  • Leagues will resume where they left off, if able. Otherwise, credits or refunds will be provided to teams through the coach/manager.
