Phase I was completed in 2003 in time for the 50th anniversary of Allen’s charter; Phase II was completed in 2010. Notable facilities include:
kidMania's vibrantly colored play structures welcome children of all ages and accessibility. In 2003, volunteers throughout Allen came together with staff and Allen Parks Foundation to construct a fully accessible playground, at the time one of the largest on of its kind in the state. There are dozens of activities within the playground, and each colored section designates a difficulty level while still providing inclusive fun for all.

- Recycling receptacles through a generous grant from Keep America Beautiful / Waste Management's "Think Green" Grant. Park visitors are reminded to recycle their plastic drink bottles and aluminum cans in order to divert tons of recyclables generated weekly from the local landfill. Please recycle your plastic drink bottles and aluminum cans!
